Makana 3A Chalet is a charming self-catering holiday chalet situated within Makana Estate in Ponta Mamoli, Mozambique. Ideal for a family of four, the chalet sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and under, offering beautiful 180° ocean views, a comfortable enclosed verandah and direct estate walkway access to Frederico’s Beach and its well-known snorkelling spot. Situated in the second row of houses from the beach, Makana 3A Chalet is just a few metres from the estate’s main wooden beach walkway. From the chalet, it takes approximately 3 minutes to walk down the wooden stairs and onto the sand at Frederico’s Beach. ACCOMMODATION The chalet has one air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-size bed for two adults and two separate loft sleeping spaces, each fitted with a single mattress for a child aged 12 or under. Each loft is accessed by its own wooden ladder and has wooden safety railings along the sides. The lofts are designed for children and are not suitable for adults. The bedroom also features built-in wooden shelving for unpacking clothes, bedside lamps and lovely sea views. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin. Bed linen and bath towels are provided. ENCLOSED SEA-VIEW VERANDAH One of the standout features of Makana 3A Chalet is its enclosed wooden verandah, surrounded by large glass windows offering beautiful 180° views across the Indian Ocean. The windows can be opened to let in the fresh sea breeze, creating a wonderful indoor-outdoor atmosphere while enjoying the ocean views. The verandah has a dining table and chairs, as well as two comfortable single couches and a coffee table where guests can relax with a morning coffee or enjoy the view. Both the bedroom and kitchen open directly onto this enclosed verandah, making the entire chalet feel connected and easy to move around. Sea views can also be enjoyed from the bedroom and kitchen. KITCHEN & BRAAI The self-catering kitchen is equipped with a standing fridge/freezer, two-plate gas hob, mini electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and Delta coffee machine. Guests should bring their own Delta coffee capsules. Crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and cooking utensils are supplied, and the fridge/freezer provides sufficient storage for the food and drinks of a family of four. An outdoor built-in wood or charcoal braai is situated alongside the kitchen, with a separate access door from the enclosed verandah. This practical layout makes preparing meals and entertaining particularly convenient. ENTERTAINMENT & CONNECTIVITY Makana 3A Chalet offers complimentary uncapped Starlink Wi-Fi. The chalet also has a Smart TV, allowing guests to access streaming services such as Netflix using their own subscriptions. Guests can also access DStv using their own login details. BEACH ACCESS Makana 3A Chalet is conveniently situated just a few metres from Makana Estate’s main communal beach walkway. The wooden walkway leads directly onto Frederico’s Beach, with the well-known Frederico’s snorkelling spot situated directly in front of the estate’s beach access. The walk from the chalet down the wooden stairs and onto the beach takes approximately 3 minutes. Frederico’s Beach is known for its beautiful coastline and opportunities for snorkelling and exploring the shallow reef during suitable sea and tidal conditions. DAILY HOUSEKEEPING The chalet is serviced daily by a housekeeper who makes the beds, washes dishes and cleans the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living areas. Staff gratuities are entirely voluntary but always appreciated. ACCESS & PARKING Makana Estate is situated in Ponta Mamoli and requires a 4x4 vehicle for access. One of the practical advantages of Makana 3A Chalet is that guests can park directly alongside the chalet, making it easy to unpack luggage, groceries and beach equipment. Parking is available for up to two vehicles.
